Buldhana: A bus accident victim claimed that he and a few other passengers were able to escape by smashing the bus's glass late on Friday night in Buldhana, Maharashtra.

Police reported that 25 people died after a passenger bus caught fire on the Samridhi Motorway in the Buldhana district of Maharashtra. The bus held 33 people in all.

According to the police, a private tours bus was travelling from Nagpur to Pune when, at around 1.30 am, it crashed into a divider and caught fire near Sindkhedraja in the Buldhana district.

An accident survivor reportedly stated, "The bus's tyre exploded, and the car immediately caught fire. The fire quickly spread.

He claimed that he and the person seated next to him were able to escape by smashing the back window.

The survivor reported that the police and fire brigade personnel arrived at the scene right away following the collision.

Four to five people, according to a local, managed to flee the vehicle by smashing a window. But not everyone was able to, he added.

One local claimed, "Those who were able to get off the bus later told us that they asked for aid from other vehicles on the highway, but none stopped."

"Many accidents occur on this road in Pimpalkhuta," a local stated. We ran there after screaming for help, and what we found there was horrific.

The people inside were attempting to smash the windows. We observed someone being burned alive. We were powerless to stop the fire since it was so intense.

According to a local, more lives could have been saved if passing motorists on the highway had stopped to ask for assistance.
