Republic Day Preparations 2023: This year's Republic Day guest of honor is Egypt's President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi. Another special feature this time is a 120-member Egyptian contingent that will march on the Kartavaya Path during the ceremony.

The 74th Republic Day of India will be observed on January 26, 2023. This year, as in previous years, extensive preparations have been made to ensure that the event is a success. The Ministry of Defense has disseminated information about this season's special attractions.

What makes it unique?

This event showcasing the country's cultural diversity will show the rise of the start-up ecosystem and a glimpse of Digital India. In terms of main attractions, playback singer Kailash Kher will be seen in the finale of India's largest drone show, which will feature 3500 indigenous UAVs. 'The Prime Minister has emphasised the point that public participation should be visible on Republic Day, so this time the glimpse of the common people will be seen more than before in the theme,' Defense Secretary Giridhar Armane said in a press briefing.

Combination of culture and bravery

On January 23-24, the 7-day event will kick off with a military tattoo ceremony and tribal dance festival at Delhi's Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. This year's Republic Day celebrations will feature 10 military tattoo displays and 20 tribal dances. The Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Tribal Affairs are jointly organizing this event.

Republic day and technology

This Republic Day, 3500 indigenous UAVs will light up the evening sky over Raisina Hills, creating India's largest drone show.

Vande Bharatam 2.0

503 dancers will present a grand cultural programme showcasing the theme of 'Nari Shakti' during the Republic Day Parade. The event's participants were chosen by a jury at the Grand Finale of the Vande Bharatam Dance Competition, held in New Delhi on December 19-20, in which 980 artists competed.
