Raipur: There will be no programmes for schoolchildren on Independence Day in Chhattisgarh schools this year as well. The state government has decided to address the rising number of corona infections. 

For the past two years, schoolchildren have not been invited to the Independence Day celebration. The General Administration Department has issued guidelines for organising Independence Day festivities. The national flag will be hoisted at all government buildings and historical places.

In Chhattisgarh, 595 more people have been confirmed to be infected with the corona virus in the last 24 hours. With this, the total number of people affected by Covid-19 in the state up to last Tuesday has risen to 11,67,016. 

According to state health department officials, 23 people were discharged from hospitals on Tuesday after becoming infection-free, and 690 people completed the period of home isolation. On Tuesday, three patients died in the state.

According to Raipur Health Department officials, 135 cases were reported on Tuesday from Raipur, 54 from Durg, 67 from Rajnandgaon, 49 from Balod, 11 from Bemetara, four from Kabirdham, 50 from Dhamtari, 17 from Balodabazar, 30 from Mahasamund, three from Gariaband, 14 from Bilaspur, 29 from Raigad, 18 from Korba, 15 from Janjgir-Champa, one from Mungeli Bastar had 15 cases reported, Kondagaon had three, one from Dantewada, 16 from Kankre and one from Narayanpur, one from Dantewada, 16 from Kankre and one from Narayanpur.

He stated that so far in Chhattisgarh, 11,67,016 people have been confirmed infected, with 11,49,586 patients becoming infection free after treatment. Currently, 3360 patients are being treated in the state. In the state, 14,070 people have died as a result of the corona virus. Corona infection cases have been rapidly increasing in the state over the last month. People have been asked to be on the alert for this.
