Chandigarh:
The Punjab Police brought Sidhu Musewala murder accused gangster Lawrence Bishnoi before the Chief Judicial Magistrate in Mansa court on Wednesday. After hearing the case, the judge sentenced gangster Bishnoi to 7 days in police custody. The criminal was transported to Punjab after the Punjab Police obtained permission from Delhi's Patiala House Court to arrest gangster Lawrence Bishnoi on transit remand in connection with the murder of singer Sidhu Musewala on Tuesday.

The court made its decision after hearing both sides

After hearing both parties, the judge granted Bishnoi transit remand to the Punjab Police. Following this, Bishnoi was brought before the Chief Judicial Magistrate in Mansa court by the Punjab Police. After hearing the case, the judge sentenced gangster Bishnoi to seven days in police custody.

Advocate Vishal Chopra, arguing for Lawrence Bishnoi in Delhi's Patiala House Court, opposed the plea of Punjab Police and stated that there is a security threat. There is concern that if Lawrence Bishnoi is released on transit remand, he would be assassinated. According to Bishnoi's counsel, we are not opposing the online inquiry and investigation.

We are challenging his physical transit remand to Punjab, he stated. The Punjab Police can arrest him in the case if necessary, but only in Delhi, but the court, rejecting his reasons, sent Bishnoi to the Punjab Police's transit remand.

Sidhu Musewala was murdered on 29 May

On May 29, Sidhu Musewala was shot dead by unknown gunmen in Jawaharke village, Mansa district, Punjab. The incident occurred just one day after the Punjab Police dropped security of 424 others. Notably, Sidhu Musewala, a singer, joined the Congress party in December last year, ahead of the assembly elections. As a result, following his death, the Congress party demanded an NIA investigation into the affair.
