India has expressed strong opposition to the killing of two Sikh youths in the Pakistani city of Peshawar. This is the second time in the last eight months that the Sikh community in Peshawar has been attacked. The Pakistani government has been informed that the incident should be thoroughly investigated by the Ministry of External Affairs.

In addition, proper security for the minority Sikh community should be guaranteed. Following the murders of Sikh youths, the Pakistani government has been surrounded by questions all over the world.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said that the people of India, particularly the Sikh community, are very concerned about the Peshawar massacre. Pakistan's government should take these attacks on minorities seriously and respond appropriately after a thorough inquiry.

According to Pakistan's Ministry of External Affairs, this is not the first time minorities have been targeted in the country. Many such events have also come to light in the past. India has encouraged Pakistan's government to safeguard the security of the minority community.

PM gave instructions to CM

Following this, Pakistan's Prime Minister, Shahbaz Sharif, condemned the death of Sikh youths in Peshawar. He claimed that hatred with Pakistan was behind the terrorist attack. Sharif was determined to destroy the country's adversaries.

He ordered Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmud Khan to arrest the culprits as soon as possible and punish them. He also encouraged the Chief Minister to take steps to safeguard citizens' lives and property, particularly non-Muslims. Sharif offered his sympathies to the families of the dead.

Following Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif's directives, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan has taken notice of the situation. He has ordered the Inspector General of Police to take immediate steps to arrest those responsible for the murder. According to CM Khan, this incident is both extremely condemnable and tragic.

The culprits of this horrible murder will be arrested by the authorities. He promised the victims' relatives that justice would be served. According to Khan, this is an attempt to destabilize the city's calm atmosphere and inter-religious cooperation. Such activities will be stopped by our administration.

What is the whole matter

Two bike-borne attackers shot and killed Saljit Singh (42) and Ranjit Singh (38) in broad daylight, according to Peshawar police. Both adolescents from the minority Sikh community used to work in the spice trade.

They had businesses in Sarband's Bata Tal bazaar, roughly 17 kilometres from Peshawar. No one has claimed responsibility for the incident as of yet. A Sikh Hakim was killed earlier in September 2021. The ISKP, an ISIS offshoot, claimed responsibility for the incident.

Brutal attack in peshawar

Unidentified gunmen shot and killed a 25-year-old Sikh man in Peshawar in the year 2020. In 2018, Charanjit Singh, a well-known Sikh figure, was assassinated in Peshawar by unknown assailants. In 2016, a member of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf National Assembly, Soren Singh, was slain in Peshawar.

In Peshawar, the Sikh community numbers over 15,000 persons. The majority of them dwell in Jogan Shah, a capital area. The spice and medical industries employ the majority of the Sikh community in Peshawar.
